AIPP has been extended for another 2 years as of March 1, 2019

Advantages:

  • More flexibility to employ health care professionals
  • Language ability: CLB 4 is acceptable
  • Job Experience as student counts towards work experience as long as the hours don’t exceed the designated 20 hours per week.
  • Not needed to meet Canadian Licensing Requirements in certain regulated professions
  • Proof of funds required is 12.5% of LICO
  • For regulated occupations, you do not need to meet Canadian licensing requirements.
  • it is mandatory for most employers to apply for and receive a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). However, the complicated LMIAs, which costs $1,000 and takes months to process, are not required under the AIP

Immigrate through any one of the 3 Categories

  1. Atlantic International Graduate Program: No work experience required
  2. Atlantic High Skilled Program

Work Experience required; Minimum 1year (part time/ full time) same occupation under different employers accepted; can be in Canada or International

Language Requirement: Minimum CLB 4

If already living and working in Canada, you don’t have to show proof of funds

  1. Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Program: applicable for those having work experience in NOC C Category.

Option 1

Work Experience NOC C

  • industrial butchers
  • long-haul truck drivers
  • food and beverage servers

Option 2

Licensed/ Registered nurse with job offer of Nurse’s Aid or home support worker

If you’re eligible to apply for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, you may also be eligible to apply for a 1-year work permit. To qualify for a temporary work permit, you must:

  • have a job offer (full time) from a designated employer in an Atlantic Province;
  • have a job offer that is full-time and not seasonal;
  • have an offer of employment number (LMIA-exemption number) from your employer;
  • have a Referral Letter issued by one of the Atlantic Provinces, asking us to issue a work permit;
  • commit to apply for permanent residence within 90 days of submitting your work permit application;
  • provide a copy of an approved language test;
  • show that you meet the education requirements;
  • show that you have qualifying work experience, if you’re eligible to apply for the Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program or the Atlantic High-Skilled Program; and
  • meet all other requirements to apply for a work permit.
