Certain programs started as pilot immigration programs have been given an extension and are now commonly known are Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program wherein the Atlantic provinces, namely New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia have the following advantages.

AIPP has been extended for another 2 years as on March 1, 2019


● More flexibility to employ health care professionals
● Language ability: CLB 4 is acceptable
● Job Experience as student counts towards work experience as long as the hours don’t exceed the designated 20 hours per week.
● Not needed to meet Canadian Licensing Requirements in certain regulated professions
● Proof of funds required is 12.5% of LICO
● For regulated occupations, you do not need to meet Canadian licensing requirements.
● it is mandatory for most employers to apply for and receive a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). However, the complicated LMIAs, which costs $1,000 and takes months to process, are not required under the AIPP

Immigrate through any one of the 3 Categories

A. Atlantic International Graduate Program: No work experience required

B. Atlantic High Skilled Program
Work Experience required; Minimum 1year (part time/ full time) same occupation under different employers accepted; can be in Canada or International
Language Requirement: Minimum CLB 4
If already living and working in Canada, you don’t have to show proof of funds
C. Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Program: Applicable for those with work experience or Job offer in NOC C category
